Daniel G. Grant, MHS, BSN, RN, NHA
Dan Grant is the Chief Operations Officer for UPMC Senior Communities. Dan has been with Senior Communities since 2005 and has assisted the Senior Communities leadership team through expansion over the past few years. Dan oversees operations for 24 facilities which include skilled, assisted living and independent living facilities across 6 counties in western PA. He is currently assisting with management and growth of senior service facilities in central PA as well.
Dan has 40 years experience in health care including 22 years in acute care where he was a staff nurse, unit manger, nursing director and Vice President of Patient Care Services. In 2000 he made the transition into post acute care and held the roles of Nursing Home Administrator and Regional Executive Director before re-joining UPMC Senior Communities in 2005.
Dan received his Associate in Nursing from CCAC, Bachelor of Education from California University, and Masters of Health Services from the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois. Dan is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
Dan proudly served 21 years as Lt. Colonel, Nursing Medical Squadron in the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Starting as a medical squadron nurse he became the Medical Squadron Commander responsible for all nursing services. He was a member of the Medical Executive Committee responsible for the overall medical readiness of the squadron.
Dan currently serves on the Board of Directors for Pennsylvania Leading Age, a professional organization supporting not for profit post acute care providers across the state.
