UPMC East, UPMC McKeesport

For over 29 years, Dr. Jones has worked at UPMC, a large integrated health delivery system in the state of Pennsylvania. Her roles spanned from staff nurse to various nursing leadership and executive positions.

Currently, Dr. Jones serves in a dual Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer for UPMC McKeesport and UPMC East. She is responsible for driving, supporting and modeling a caring service-oriented professional culture focused on employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence, fiscal responsibility, and the overall patient experience.

Dr. Jones serves as a member of the executive leadership team at the facility and system levels. Her expertise is in leadership development, performance management, workforce planning and development and financial management. She has been a national conference speaker on various topics that include nurse manager scope and span of control, diversity and inclusion and various professional development and advancement strategies.

She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from Carlow University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice in nursing administration with a minor in nursing informatics from the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. Dr. Jones holds a Nurse Executive Advance certification from the American Nurse Credentialing Center.

Currently she serves on the FDA Peripheral and Central Nervous System Advisory Committee, the state of Pennsylvania’s Action Coalition’s Nursing Diversity Council, is a member of the UPMC Board Inclusion & Diversity Committee, American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Nurses Association, serves on several Board of Directors for organizations, and is the president of the Pittsburgh Black Nurses in Action, which is the local chapter of the National Black Nurses Association. She is a recipient of the state of PA Nightingale Award in CNO/Executive category. She was ranked at number #23 by Talk Magazine’s 100 Most Influential African American Pennsylvanians.
