Kristine Keefer Wolff, DNP, RN, NEA-BC
Dr. Wolff joined UPMC Somerset as the Vice President, Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer in May 2019. Prior to her role at UPMC Somerset, Dr. Wolff was Senior Director, Clinical Operations, UPMC Center for Nursing Excellence. She has been responsible for supporting and modeling a caring, service-oriented, and professional culture across UPMC.
Dr. Wolff has proven success driving high-performance outcomes in patient experience, employee engagement, quality, patient safety, service excellence and fiscal responsibility. She has had operational responsibility overseeing System Nursing Resources across UPMC and also served as the Director of Nursing at UPMC Presbyterian. Dr. Wolff has served as the clinical liaison with the system Emergency Management and Preparedness team, and is a founding member of the Infectious Disease Unit planning and implementation team. She has led the system-wide Professional Practice and Nursing Inclusion Councils. Dr. Wolff continues to serve as co-chair of the cross functional UPMC Experience Impact Team focusing on Standards of Behavior, Rewards and Recognition, and Workplace of Choice.
Dr. Wolff is a three-time graduate of the University of Pittsburgh earning Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees. The focus of her doctoral capstone was implementation of a nursing peer review program for patient safety events to support a Just Culture. Dr. Wolff is board specialty certified as Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC), and is a graduate of the UPMC Leadership Development Intensive. Dr. Wolff has received UPMC’s Award for Commitment and Excellence in Service (ACES), and she has been named a Cameos of Caring® honoree for Advanced Practice in Leadership.
